ABOUT
Nick Shortt joined the MRINZ in 2015 as a research assistant and since then he has gone on to develop an interest in database & software development alongside clinical trial coordination. These interests have shaped his career path and led to his current role as Senior Informatics Manager.

Nick received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science from Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Nick has also undertaken post-graduate study with Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington while working at the MRINZ. He completed his Masters of Clinical Research in 2017 and is currently undertaking his PhD which is focused on the development of a clinical trial management system to support clinical research in community pharmacies.

Nick really enjoys being in the field of clinical research and is hoping to use his skills to impact the way clinical trials are run in Aotearoa New Zealand.
