ABOUT
John Martindale
joined the MRINZ in 2016 as a Data Manager & Monitor, dividing his time between study data management activities and monitoring of respiratory studies. Since 2019, John has held the role of Data & Quality Principal, with a primary focus on implementation of good Data Management practices and data standards across the Institute.

John received his BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology from Coventry University (UK) in 1983 and started his Data Management career in 1986 working for Glaxo Group Research in London. Since then, he has worked within a variety of DM-related roles and research areas, split between Pharma and Academic organisations. He has also taught Data Management on a number of post-graduate courses in the UK and New Zealand.

 

John has been a member of the REDCap Regulatory & Software Validation Committee for several years. He is particularly active within the Part 11 sub-committee, taking a lead in the production of several documents released for use across the Consortium. He is particularly interested in researching the logistical challenges faced by small academic research organisations performing clinical research in an international regulatory environment.
