Denise has worked at MRINZ since its establishment in 2001. She previously worked in the Wellington School of Medicine (University of Otago) as EA to the Professor of Medicine, initially Professor Eru Pomare, and then Professor Richard Beasley. Prior to that, she also spent several years in the Postgraduate Office administering training programmes and medical conferences.
