Gabby Short
PhD, BSc (Hons), BBMedScGabby Shortt joined the MRINZ in 2019. In her role as Research Fellow she develops and manages clinical trials and day-to-day research activities undertaken at the MRINZ. She enjoys exploring and implementing novel research methodologies.
She earned her BBMedSc, BSc (Hons) and PhD in Molecular Microbiology from Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. During her doctoral studies she investigated meningococcal virulence factors. She is currently leading community-based interventional trials in the Pharmacy Research Network.
Gabby is also passionate about supporting and supervising students and junior colleagues, and developing the young research workforce. Gabby is inspired by the range of research at MRINZ, and loves research that can translate to improved health outcomes for Aotearoa.
